What it does
If you sell digital products with Easy Digital Downloads and already use Authorize.net as your merchant gateway, you need a way to connect the two. This plugin adds Authorize.net as a payment option in your store's checkout. Buyers pay with major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express, and the payment is handled on your own site. That keeps the checkout in one place and gives customers a familiar card form at the moment they buy.
Once the gateway is set up, you configure it from a settings screen inside WordPress. A test mode lets you run practice transactions before you start taking real payments. Payments are confirmed to customers automatically, and transactions show up in your dashboard so you can review orders and handle customer questions. When a card is declined at the gateway, the order is marked as failed in Easy Digital Downloads and the event is logged, which makes troubleshooting easier.
