What it does
Easy Digital Downloads normally sends customers a link to their files, which means they have to click through to a download page or sign in to their account. Some buyers find that extra step confusing, and it can lead to messages asking where their purchase went. This extension adds the files themselves to the email, so the purchase and the product arrive together in one message.
The plugin works inside your existing Easy Digital Downloads setup. The attachment setting sits in the Emails settings tab, where you can turn attachments on or off, and it checks that a file exists before attaching it. It handles products with several files, uses standard WordPress mail functions and works alongside SMTP plugins. It suits stores selling ebooks, software, music or other downloadable content.
Best for
- Easy Digital Downloads stores selling ebooks or documents
- Musicians and creators selling downloadable audio files
- Sellers who want fewer questions about accessing purchases
Features
Automatic file attachments

Settings in the Emails tab

File checks before sending
The plugin confirms that a download file exists before attaching it, which helps avoid sending emails with missing files.
Works with WordPress mail and SMTP
Emails go out through the standard WordPress mail functions and can be routed through SMTP plugins you already use.
No login needed for customers
Buyers can open their files from the email itself, without signing in to an account or visiting a separate download page.
