What it does
Many digital stores built on Easy Digital Downloads offer some items at no cost: a sample pack, a starter file, a free resource or a companion document. When those free items go through the same verification steps as paid products, the process feels heavier than it needs to be. EDD - License Free Download addresses that by letting you mark selected products as free of those checks, so people can grab them directly while your paid catalog keeps working as before.
The add-on sits inside your existing Easy Digital Downloads setup and follows its security standards. You decide product by product which items skip verification, which gives you control over what is open and what stays behind the normal flow. The download workflow can also be adjusted to match your store and branding, so free items feel consistent with the rest of the site. It suits creators, developers and shop owners who use free files to introduce their work or support their paid products.
