What it does

Running a directory means keeping hundreds of listings accurate, and that work usually lands on the site admin. This addon hands that upkeep to the people who know the businesses best. Owners click a claim button, fill in a short form in a lightbox popup without leaving the listing page, and submit their request. Once a claim is approved, the owner can manage and update the listing information themselves, which cuts down on admin work and keeps details closer to reality.

You decide how claims get approved. Claims can be approved automatically through email verification or a payment receipt, or you can review each one by hand and approve or reject it from a backend dashboard. If you use the Pricing Manager add-on, you can charge for claims through GetPaid or WooCommerce. Approved listings can show a Verified Listing badge, and the claimed field works with sorting and GeoDirectory's advanced search addon so visitors can find verified businesses.

Best for

  • Local business directories built on GeoDirectory
  • Directory owners who want businesses to maintain their own listings
  • Niche or multi-location directories that charge for claims

Features

Flexible claim button placement

Add the claim button anywhere on your site with a shortcode, a widget or a Gutenberg block, so it fits your existing listing layouts.

Lightbox popup claim form

Owners fill out the claim form in a popup right on the listing page, so they are not redirected away while submitting a claim.

Custom forms with Ninja Forms

Use the free Ninja Forms plugin to customize the claim form and build several different forms to match what your directory needs to collect.

Pay to claim option

Charge for claims by pairing this addon with the Pricing Manager add-on, taking payments through GetPaid or WooCommerce.

Automatic or manual approvals

Approve claims automatically after email verification or payment receipt, or review each request yourself and approve or reject it.

Undo approved claims

Reverse a claim that was already approved, which helps when you spot a mistake or a suspicious request after the fact.

Verified Listing badge

Show a Verified Listing badge on claimed listings, placed anywhere through a widget, shortcode or block.

Claim emails and admin dashboard

Customizable emails tell admins and users about submissions, approvals and rejections, while a backend screen lets you view, approve, reject or delete claims.
