What’s new in GP Limit Submissions 1.1.26
- NewAdded support for including archived entries (via GF Entry Archive) when evaluating submission limits.
What it does
Many forms need a cap on entries. A giveaway should count each person once, a job application form should not fill up with duplicates, and a survey loses value when one visitor answers it ten times. This add-on handles those cases inside Gravity Forms. You define who the limit applies to, such as a logged-in user, a user role or an IP address, and you can also limit by the values people type into fields, like one entry per unique name and address.
Limits run over periods such as per minute, daily, weekly or lifetime, and you can combine several rules into layered restrictions. When someone hits a limit, they see a custom message that supports merge tags, and Gravity Forms notifications can alert admins or users. A shortcode displays submission counts, remaining entries and totals on any page. Developers get hooks and filters, global feeds and collective limits across multiple forms, and archived entries from GF Entry Archive can count toward limits.
Best for
- Sites running contests, raffles or giveaways on Gravity Forms
- Survey, quiz and job application forms needing one entry per person
- Developers building custom entry rules across multiple forms
Features
Restrict submissions per logged-in user, per user role or per IP address so the same person or device cannot submit more than you allow.
Base limits on what people enter in form fields, for example allowing only one entry for each unique combination of name and address.
Place the same form on several pages and track separate submission limits for each page URL, useful for campaigns spread across your site.
Apply limits per minute, daily, weekly or for a lifetime, depending on how often you want people to be able to submit.
Mix user, IP, field value and time rules together to build layered restrictions that match more complex entry policies.
Show your own message when a limit is reached, with merge tag support so you can include form details in the text.
Use the Gravity Forms notification system to alert administrators, users or both whenever a submission limit is hit.
Display current submissions, remaining entries and total limits with a shortcode, and extend behavior through hooks, filters, global feeds and multi-form collective limits.

Questions about GP Limit Submissions
Do I need Gravity Forms to use this?
Yes. It is an add-on for Gravity Forms and works on the forms you build there. It adds submission limit settings and uses the Gravity Forms notification system to send alerts when limits are reached.
Can I stop people from entering a giveaway more than once?
Yes. You can limit entries by user, user role or IP address, or by field values such as a unique name and address combination. Set the period to lifetime and each person can enter only once.
Can I show visitors how many spots are left?
A shortcode lets you display the current number of submissions, the remaining entries and the total limit anywhere on your site, so visitors can see how many spots remain.
Can one limit apply across several forms?
Yes. Developers can set up collective limits that span multiple forms, along with global feeds and hooks and filters for custom behavior. Archived entries from GF Entry Archive can also be included when counting.
Is GP Limit Submissions free?
The code of GP Limit Submissions is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
