What it does
Many forms need answers of a certain length. An essay contest may ask for at least 300 words, while a short bio field should stay brief. Gravity Forms does not enforce word counts on its own, so you end up reading entries that are too short or far too long. This add-on fixes that by letting you set word limits on Single Line Text, Paragraph, Post Body, Post Excerpt and Post Title fields, then checking each entry against those limits.
As people type, a counter below the field shows how many words they have used, so they can adjust before hitting submit. Validation blocks entries that fall outside your range while respecting conditional logic and hidden fields, which avoids errors on fields a visitor never saw. Optional fields stay optional. It also works alongside Gravity Forms Pay Per Word for pricing based on length and is compatible with Populate Anything. Developers can change labels and truncation behavior through filters.

Does this plugin require Gravity Forms?
Yes. It is an add-on for Gravity Forms and works on the text fields that Gravity Forms provides, including Single Line Text, Paragraph, Post Body, Post Excerpt and Post Title fields.
Will an optional field become required if I set a minimum word count?
No. Optional fields stay optional. The minimum is only checked when someone enters text, and fields hidden through conditional logic are skipped during validation so visitors are not blocked by fields they never saw.
