What it does
Job seekers rarely visit a job board every day, and good listings can slip past them. This plugin solves that by turning a search into a saved alert. A user runs a search with keywords or a job type, clicks the Add Alert button, and picks how often they want to hear about new matches. From then on, the site sends an email with fresh listings on the chosen schedule: daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
On the admin side, you control alert frequency options and customize the email templates from within the WP Job Manager settings, so messages match your site's branding. Consent checkboxes and unsubscribe links help you meet data privacy rules. A shortcode creates a page where logged-in users manage their alerts, and if you run the Job Tags plugin, alerts can filter by tags too. Job statistics also show how many times each job was sent out in alert emails.
Best for
- Job boards running on WP Job Manager
- Niche recruitment sites that want returning job seekers
- Agencies building job board sites for clients
Features
Users create alerts from their own search criteria, such as keywords and job types, so each email contains only listings that match what they want.
Alerts can go out daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly, and users choose the frequency that suits how actively they are looking.
An Add Alert button lets a user save the search they just ran as an alert without filling in the criteria a second time.
A shortcode adds a page where logged-in users can preview, enable, disable, edit or delete any of their job alerts whenever they like.
Administrators adjust the alert emails and related settings directly in the WP Job Manager settings to match the site's wording and branding.
Consent checkboxes and unsubscribe links are built in, helping site owners follow data privacy laws and giving users clear control over their emails.
When the Job Tags plugin is active, users can narrow their alerts further by filtering jobs through tags for more precise notifications.
Job statistics record how many times each listing was sent out in alert emails, giving you a view of how far jobs reach.

Questions about Job Alerts
Does this plugin work without WP Job Manager?
No. It is an add-on built for job boards powered by WP Job Manager. It uses that plugin's job listings and search, and its email templates and alert settings are managed from the WP Job Manager settings.
Can job seekers choose how often they get emails?
Yes. Each alert can be set to send daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Users pick the frequency when they create an alert and can edit it later from their alerts management page.
How do users manage or stop their alerts?
A shortcode adds an alerts page where logged-in users can preview, enable, disable, edit or delete alerts at any time. Alert emails also include unsubscribe links, so users can opt out directly from their inbox.
Can alerts filter by job tags?
Yes, if you also use the Job Tags plugin. With it active, users can refine alerts by tags in addition to keywords and job types, which makes the notifications they receive more precise.
Is Job Alerts free?
The code of Job Alerts is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Job Alerts is this?
Version 3.2.0, released Apr 29, 2024. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Job Alerts?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Job Alerts automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
