What it does

A job board that only lists vacancies covers half of the hiring process. This add-on handles the other half by letting job seekers build resumes with education, employment history and contact details directly on your site. Logged-in candidates keep those resumes in a dashboard where they can edit, update or delete them, and they can apply to jobs using a stored resume along with a personal message to the employer.

The plugin works on top of WP Job Manager and uses shortcodes to place forms, listings and dashboards on your pages, so it fits into the WordPress theme you already use with little styling work. Administrators review, approve, edit or delete resumes from the WordPress backend. Access rules based on WordPress user capabilities decide who can browse resumes and view candidate contact details, which suits recruitment agencies and job boards that need to protect applicant data.

Best for

  • Job boards already running WP Job Manager
  • Recruitment agencies collecting candidate resumes
  • Businesses hiring directly through their own website

Features

Detailed resume submission form

Candidates submit resumes that include education, employment history and contact information, and they can preview the resume before sending it.

Filterable resume listings

Resume search results update with AJAX filtering, so employers can narrow down candidates without reloading the page.

Role-based access control

WordPress user capabilities determine who can view resumes and candidate contact details, keeping applicant information limited to the people you choose.

Candidate dashboard

Logged-in candidates can edit, update or delete the resumes they have submitted at any time from their own dashboard.

Apply with a stored resume

Job seekers apply to listings using a resume already saved on the site and can include a personalized message to the employer.

Employer contact button

Resume pages show a contact button that gives authorized employers access to the candidate's email address so they can get in touch.

Backend moderation tools

Administrators review, approve, edit or delete resumes from the WordPress admin area, including bulk approval for users permitted to manage resumes.

Import and export support

Resumes can be imported and exported, which helps with managing records in bulk or moving resume data between sites.

Questions about Resume Manager

Does this work without WP Job Manager?

No. It is an add-on built on WP Job Manager, so that plugin needs to be running on your site. Resume Manager extends it with resume submission, resume listings, candidate dashboards and the option to apply to jobs with a stored resume.

Can I stop just anyone from seeing candidate contact details?

Yes. Access to resumes and contact details is controlled through WordPress user capabilities, so you decide which roles can browse resumes and which can see email addresses. Authorized employers use a contact button on the resume page to reach candidates.

Will it fit with my current WordPress theme?

The plugin uses shortcodes to place its forms, listings and dashboards on your pages. That shortcode-based approach is designed to work within any WordPress theme, usually with only minor styling adjustments.

Can candidates change their resume after submitting it?

Yes. Logged-in candidates have a dashboard where they can edit, update or delete their submitted resumes. Before the first submission they also see a preview, so they can check the content and formatting.

Is Resume Manager free?

The code of Resume Manager is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of Resume Manager is this?

Version 2.2.0, released Apr 29, 2024. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update Resume Manager?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Resume Manager automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
