What it does

Content often has a shelf life. A sale page should come down when the promotion ends, an event post should leave the front page after the date passes, and old announcements should not linger. Doing all of this by hand means remembering dates and logging in at the right moment. This plugin lets you plan those changes in advance from the post editor sidebar, so posts are unpublished, trashed, deleted or given a new status on the date you choose.

For more involved needs, you can build workflows with several scheduled steps and if/else conditions that pick different actions depending on the situation. Workflows can send email notifications to keep your team informed, and scheduled actions can add, remove or replace taxonomy terms. Quick Edit and Bulk Edit let you adjust dates across many posts, shortcodes can show expiry dates to visitors, and a log records every scheduled and completed action. It works with custom post types such as WooCommerce products and LearnDash classes.

Best for

  • Busy blogs and news sites with time-sensitive posts
  • WooCommerce stores running limited-time products or promotions
  • Editorial teams and LearnDash course sites managing content lifecycles

Questions about PublishPress Future Pro

Does it work with WooCommerce products and other custom post types?

Yes. You can schedule future actions on WooCommerce products, LearnDash classes and other custom post types, and custom statuses are supported too. That means the same expiration and status change tools you use on posts and pages also apply to your store items or course content.

What can happen to a post when its scheduled date arrives?

A post can be unpublished, moved to the trash, deleted permanently or switched to a different status. Scheduled actions can also add, remove or replace taxonomy terms, so you can recategorize content automatically instead of removing it.

Can I change expiration dates for many posts at once?

Yes. The plugin works with the WordPress Quick Edit and Bulk Edit tools, so you can modify scheduled action dates across numerous posts from the post list without opening each one in the editor.

Can my team be notified when content changes?

Yes. Workflows can send customized email notifications during or after their steps, so editors and contributors are kept informed about status changes. A detailed log of scheduled and executed actions is also available for review.
