What’s new in Recurring Referrals 1.9.2
Version 1.9.2 · Apr 11, 2024
Latest
- ImprovedOur settings have been moved to the Commission tab for better organization (intended to be used with AffiliateWP 2.18.0)
What it does
Many affiliate programs credit a referral once, at signup, even when the customer keeps paying every month or year. For subscription and membership businesses, that leaves affiliates unrewarded for most of the value they bring in. This add-on fills that gap by tracking every recurring payment from a referred customer and creating a referral for each one, across the full life of the subscription.
Once it is on, you turn recurring referrals on with a checkbox in your AffiliateWP settings, found under the Commission tab. From there you can set a separate recurring rate and rate type, or fall back to each affiliate's own rate. You can also cap how many recurring commissions an affiliate can earn per customer. It works with platforms such as WooCommerce with WooCommerce Subscriptions, Easy Digital Downloads, Restrict Content Pro, MemberPress, MemberMouse, LifterLMS, Gravity Forms, WP Simple Pay and PayPal Buttons.
Best for
- Membership sites running an AffiliateWP program
- Stores selling subscriptions through WooCommerce Subscriptions
- Course creators using LifterLMS or MemberPress with affiliates

Questions about Recurring Referrals
Do I need AffiliateWP for this to work?
Yes. This is an add-on for AffiliateWP and adds recurring commission tracking to it. Its settings appear in the Commission tab of your AffiliateWP settings, where you enable recurring referrals with a checkbox.
Which subscription and membership tools does it support?
It supports WooCommerce with WooCommerce Subscriptions, Easy Digital Downloads, Restrict Content Pro, MemberPress, MemberMouse, LifterLMS, Gravity Forms, WP Simple Pay (Stripe) and PayPal Buttons. Recurring payments made through these are recorded as affiliate referrals.
Can I pay a different rate on renewals than on the first sale?
Yes. You can set a custom recurring referral rate and rate type for renewals. If you prefer, renewals can simply use the referral rate and type already assigned to each affiliate.
Can I stop paying commissions after a certain number of renewals?
Yes. The plugin lets you limit how many recurring commissions an affiliate can earn, so you can decide how long renewal payouts continue for a referred customer.
Is Recurring Referrals free?
The code of Recurring Referrals is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Recurring Referrals is this?
Version 1.9.2, released Apr 11, 2024. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Recurring Referrals?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Recurring Referrals automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
