What it does
The built-in AffiliateWP REST API lets you read affiliate data, but it stops there. If you want another application to add a new affiliate, record a referral or log a payout, you need write access. This add-on supplies it by extending the existing API with create, update and delete operations for affiliates, creatives, referrals, visits and payouts. Your affiliate program can then be managed from code instead of only from the WordPress admin screens.
That opens up a range of setups. You can track visits and referrals from websites and ecommerce platforms that do not run WordPress, generate referral records when an external payment gateway processes an order, and keep affiliate accounts in sync across several WordPress installations or outside databases. You can also build custom affiliate dashboards hosted outside WordPress. Documentation with guides and examples is included to help developers get started on their own integrations.
