What it does
Running a photo store on Sell Media often means you want to offer a deal now and then: a holiday promotion, a thank you for email subscribers or a short sale on a new collection. On its own, setting that up is hard to manage. This addon adds a place to create and manage discount codes, so you can set up as many as you need for different campaigns or groups of customers and keep each one separate.
Each code can take off a percentage or a fixed flat amount. You can give it a start and end date so it only works during a set window, and cap the number of times it can be redeemed. Discounts apply to digital photo sales and to print reprints. Customers type the code on the checkout page and the reduced total shows right away. The addon requires the Sell Media plugin to work.
Best for
- Photographers selling digital images with Sell Media
- Photo stores that also sell print reprints
- Photography businesses running seasonal or subscriber promotions
Features
Unlimited discount codes
Create as many discount codes as you like, so each campaign, promotion or customer group can have its own code with its own settings.
Percentage or flat discounts
Choose whether a code takes a percentage off the order or subtracts a fixed flat amount, depending on what suits the products and the offer.
Start and end dates
Set the dates when each code becomes active and when it stops working, which suits holiday sales, flash deals and other limited-time offers.
Maximum usage limits
Define how many times a code can be redeemed in total, so a limited offer closes automatically once that number is reached.
Discounts on print reprints
Apply discount codes to printed photo products as well as digital sales, so one code can cover both types of purchase in your store.
Code entry at checkout
Customers enter their discount code on the checkout page, and the discount is reflected in the order total straight away.
Questions about Sell Media Discount Codes Addon
Does this work without the Sell Media plugin?
No. This is an extension for Sell Media, so the main Sell Media plugin needs to be active on your site. The addon adds discount code creation and checkout code entry to an existing Sell Media storefront.
Can I offer a fixed amount off instead of a percentage?
Yes. Each code can be set as either a percentage-based discount or a fixed flat amount. You pick the type per code, so you can run a percentage sale and a flat-amount offer at the same time with separate codes.
Can I make a code expire or limit how often it is used?
Yes. You can set a start date and an end date for each code, so it only works during that period. You can also set a maximum number of redemptions, after which the code stops applying.
Do discount codes apply to prints as well as digital photos?
Yes. The addon supports discounts on both digital photo sales and print reprints, so customers can use a code on physical prints as well as digital purchases in your Sell Media store.
Is Sell Media Discount Codes Addon free?
The code of Sell Media Discount Codes Addon is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Sell Media Discount Codes Addon is this?
Version 2.1.5. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Sell Media Discount Codes Addon?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Sell Media Discount Codes Addon automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does Sell Media Discount Codes Addon need?
Sell Media Discount Codes Addon needs Sell Media installed and active.
