What it does
Organizations that run compliance training or professional development often need to prove how many credits each learner has earned and when. LearnDash handles the courses, but it does not track credit values on its own. This plugin fills that gap by attaching a credit value to each LearnDash course and recording completions and quiz results permanently, including retaken courses. You can also add, edit and delete credits for activities that happened outside LearnDash, and generate historical credit data for courses completed before the plugin was in place.
Once credits are flowing in, learners can see their earned and available credits on their front-end profiles. Administrators get reports with cumulative totals, filters by date or LearnDash group, and CSV export for work in Excel. Public searchable reports let students, managers or accreditation bodies verify records. Annual rollover dates keep the focus on the current compliance cycle, and custom certificates can be awarded once a learner reaches a credit total or finishes a set of courses. It works with Uncanny Automator to award credits from other triggers.
Best for
- LearnDash sites running compliance or certification training
- Professional associations tracking CEUs or CPD hours
- Corporate training teams reporting on employee credits
Features
Assign CEUs, CPDs or hours to any LearnDash course so each completion adds the right number of credits to a learner's record.
Stores course completions, quiz results and credits permanently, including results from retaken courses, so you keep an accurate history for compliance purposes.
Add, edit and delete credits for any learning activity, including training completed outside LearnDash, so a learner's total reflects everything they have done.
Set a yearly rollover date that matches your compliance cycle, so reporting and learner views focus on the current certification period.
View all credits earned with cumulative totals and filters by date or LearnDash group, and publish front-end searchable reports for verification by others.
Export credit and completion records to CSV files so you can sort, filter and analyze the data further in spreadsheet tools like Excel.
Award custom certificates when learners reach a total credit amount or complete a combination of courses, then email them and keep PDF copies on the server.
Use Uncanny Automator to award credits based on other activity, such as live event attendance, lesson completions, purchases or activity in another LMS.

Questions about Uncanny Continuing Education Credits
Does this plugin work without LearnDash?
It is built for LearnDash. Credit values are assigned to LearnDash courses, and reports can be filtered by LearnDash groups. You can manually add credits for activities completed outside LearnDash, but the plugin is designed to extend an existing LearnDash setup.
Can I give credit for courses learners finished before I set this up?
Yes. The plugin can generate historical credit data for courses and quizzes that were completed before it was installed, so earlier learner progress is reflected in their credit totals and reports.
Can learners and outside bodies check credit records?
Learners can see their earned and available credits on their front-end profiles. You can also create public, searchable front-end reports that let students, managers and accreditation bodies verify credit records while keeping privacy in mind.
How do certificates work with credits?
You can award custom certificates when a learner reaches a set total of continuing education credits or completes a specific combination of courses. New certificates can be emailed automatically, and PDF copies are stored on the server for your records.
