What’s new in Give ConvertKit 2.0.0
- NewAdded compatibility with the GiveWP visual donation form builder
What it does
Collecting donations and building an email list often happen in separate places, which leaves someone copying donor details from one system to another. This add-on removes that manual step. When a donor checks the opt-in box on a GiveWP form, their details go straight to ConvertKit, where they land on the form and tags you have set. It is aimed at nonprofits, fundraisers and cause-driven groups that already use GiveWP and want their email follow-up organized from the first gift.
Setup starts with your ConvertKit API key. From there you can choose a default ConvertKit form and tags for every donation, or set different choices for individual donation forms. Multiple tags per donation let you sort supporters into groups, such as recurring and one-time donors, so later messages match who they are. The opt-in label and checkbox value can be changed globally or per form. The plugin requires GiveWP and also works with the GiveWP visual donation form builder.
Best for
- Nonprofits running GiveWP donation forms
- Fundraisers who send follow-up emails through ConvertKit
- Cause-driven groups segmenting recurring and one-time donors

Donors can subscribe to your email list by ticking a simple checkbox during the donation process.
Set one ConvertKit form and set of tags that apply to every donation across all of your GiveWP forms.
Override the defaults on individual donation forms so each campaign can send donors to its own ConvertKit form and tags.
Apply one or more ConvertKit tags to a donor, making it possible to segment groups like recurring and one-time givers.
Edit the opt-in prompt text and checkbox value globally or per form so the wording fits each appeal.
Works with the GiveWP visual donation form builder, so forms created there can include the ConvertKit opt-in.

Questions about Give ConvertKit
Do I need GiveWP to use this plugin?
Yes. This is an add-on for GiveWP, so it works with GiveWP donation forms. You also need a ConvertKit account, since the connection is made using your ConvertKit API key.
Can different donation forms send donors to different ConvertKit forms or tags?
Yes. You can set a global default ConvertKit form and tags for all donations, then customize the form and tags on individual donation forms when a campaign needs its own setup.
Are donors added to my list automatically?
Donors are added when they choose to opt in. The plugin places a checkbox on the donation form, and donors who tick it are subscribed to the ConvertKit form and tags you selected.
Can I change the wording of the opt-in checkbox?
Yes. The opt-in label text and checkbox value can be customized globally for every form or set separately on each donation form.
Is Give ConvertKit free?
The code of Give ConvertKit is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Give ConvertKit is this?
Version 2.0.0, released May 15, 2024. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Give ConvertKit?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Give ConvertKit automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does Give ConvertKit need?
Give ConvertKit needs GiveWP installed and active.
