Give - MailChimp

What’s new in Give - MailChimp 2.1.0
- NewAdded a "Use Global Settings" setting to Mailchimp block, so forms can follow the site's global Mailchimp settings.
- FixedResolved an issue where manually inserted Mailchimp blocks in the form builder used hardcoded defaults instead of the global Mailchimp settings.
- FixedManual donations now use the Mailchimp audience configured for the selected form, falling back to legacy form settings or the global list.
What it does
Many organizations collect donations in one place and manage their newsletter in another, which leaves donor contact details sitting unused. Give - MailChimp closes that gap by adding an opt-in checkbox to your GiveWP donation forms. When a donor ticks it, they are added to the Mailchimp list you chose. That gives you a steady way to turn people who have already supported you into subscribers you can update about your work and future appeals.
Setup centers on your Mailchimp API key. Once it is entered, you pick a default list for all donation forms and can override it on individual forms, assigning one or several lists per form. This makes it simple to group donors by cause, such as a food drive or holiday campaign. You can turn on double opt-in and change the opt-in label and checkbox default globally or form by form. It requires the GiveWP plugin and needs no coding.
Best for
- Nonprofits using GiveWP to collect online donations
- Fundraisers running several campaigns with separate email audiences
- Charities that send donor newsletters through Mailchimp
Features
Donors can choose to join your Mailchimp list right on the donation form, so new subscribers come straight from people who have just given.
Assign one or more Mailchimp lists to each donation form, letting a single gift add the donor to every list that matches that campaign.
Set a default list that applies to all forms, then override it on specific forms when a campaign needs its own audience.
Send donors to cause-specific lists, such as a food drive or holiday campaign list, so follow-up emails relate to what they supported.
Turn on double opt-in so new subscribers confirm their address before joining, which helps keep your mailing lists clean and consent clear.
Edit the wording of the opt-in prompt and choose whether the checkbox starts checked, either across the site or on individual forms.
Connect to Mailchimp by entering your API key, then configure your list preferences without writing any code.

Questions about Give - MailChimp
Do I need GiveWP for this to work?
Yes. This is an add-on for the GiveWP donation plugin, so GiveWP must be active on your site. It adds Mailchimp opt-in options to the donation forms you build with GiveWP.
Can different donation forms send donors to different Mailchimp lists?
Yes. You can set a global default list for all forms and then override it on any individual form. Each form can also be assigned more than one list, which is handy for separating donors by cause or campaign.
Are donors subscribed automatically, or do they choose?
Donors see an opt-in checkbox on the form and decide whether to join. You control the label text and whether the box starts checked, and you can also enable double opt-in so subscribers confirm by email.
How does it connect to my Mailchimp account?
You enter your Mailchimp API key in the settings, which links the add-on to your account and lets you pick from your existing lists. No coding is required to get it working.
Is Give - MailChimp free?
The code of Give - MailChimp is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Give - MailChimp is this?
Version 2.1.0, released Oct 14, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Give - MailChimp?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Give - MailChimp automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does Give - MailChimp need?
Give - MailChimp needs GiveWP installed and active.
