What it does
Many nonprofits want donors to complete a gift without leaving the organization's website. This add-on handles that by linking GiveWP, the donation platform it requires, with Square's payment processing. Card details are encrypted from the moment a donor types them until they reach Square, so sensitive payment data stays off your server. Square's machine learning fraud analysis screens transactions, and the donation forms are built to meet PCI compliance requirements.
Setup does not call for entering API keys, which keeps the connection process simple. Once connected, you can accept most major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB and Diners Club. Paired with GiveWP's Recurring Donations add-on, donors can schedule daily, weekly, monthly or annual gifts. Square deposits funds the next business day, with instant or same-day options available, and refunds can be issued from the GiveWP interface in WordPress.
