What it does
Event sites that use several venues often struggle to present location details clearly. Visitors want to know where an event happens, what else is on at that venue and how to get there. This add-on for Modern Events Calendar creates a dedicated page for each location, so venue information lives in one place and attendees can find it without digging through individual event listings.
Most of the display work happens through optional shortcodes. You can place a list or grid of all locations anywhere on your site, embed maps inside those views, and show ongoing events or every event tied to a specific location or speaker. Shortcode options accept multiple inputs, and selections use searchable dropdown fields. You can also mark venues as featured with one click and control event access based on location.
Best for
- Organizers running events across multiple venues

Questions about MEC Advanced Location
Does this work on its own or do I need another plugin?
It is an add-on for Modern Events Calendar, so it extends that plugin's event and location features. You need Modern Events Calendar running on your site to use the location pages, shortcodes and views it provides.
Can I show locations in different layouts?
Yes. You can display all of your locations in a list view or a grid view through the shortcodes, and maps can be embedded within listings in either layout. Featured venues can be marked with one click.
Can I display events for a specific venue or speaker?
Yes. The shortcodes can list all events related to a specific location or speaker, and they can also show ongoing events tied to each location. Shortcode options accept multiple inputs, so you can include more than one venue or speaker.
Does each location get its own page?
Yes. The add-on generates a dedicated single page for each location with detailed venue information, and Google Maps can display on those pages so attendees can see where the venue is.
Is MEC Advanced Location free?
The code of MEC Advanced Location is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
