What it does

Event listings that only show a text address make it hard for visitors to judge what is near them. This add-on brings map views into Modern Events Calendar so people can see where events take place and find the ones close by. You can choose OpenStreetMap as an alternative to Google Maps, which gives you a mapping option without relying only on a paid map service.

On the frontend, visitors can filter events by address fields such as Street and Region, browse a side style view with events next to the map, and step through nearby events with next and previous buttons. Nearby markers group into clusters so busy maps stay readable. Site owners can set zoom levels, pick a default map location by dragging the map, and collect exact addresses through frontend submission forms.

Best for

  • Event organizers running Modern Events Calendar
  • City guides and community event listing sites
  • Sites listing events across many venues or regions
