- FixedImproved compatibility on edit screens when the SearchWP core plugin is not active.
What it does
Most sites have content that shouldn't show up in search: outdated pages, thank-you screens, discontinued products or stray media files. Hiding them usually means writing custom queries or filters. This extension adds a simple control to the content editor, so you can mark an item as excluded with one click and SearchWP will leave it out of results. It covers posts, pages, WooCommerce products, media and taxonomies such as categories, tags and custom taxonomies.
For larger sites, excluding items one at a time gets tedious, so the extension also supports bulk exclusion rules that hide whole content types or groups across multiple SearchWP search engines. You can set a custom order for results as well, placing chosen content higher for a given search. It runs alongside SearchWP, and developers can adjust the exclusion logic through the hooks, filters and APIs it provides.
Best for
- Sites already running SearchWP for their search
- WooCommerce stores hiding discontinued or irrelevant products
- Developers customizing search exclusion logic for client sites
