What it does
Default WordPress search looks at a limited set of content and gives you little say over the order of results. That becomes a problem on sites with product catalogs, document libraries, custom post types or data stored in custom fields. This plugin builds its own index that can include custom fields, post types, database tables, PDFs and media files, so content that the standard search skips can show up in results. Relevance sliders on the engine settings screen let you decide which content carries more weight.
You can set up more than one search engine and build search forms, including live search modals, without writing code. Live AJAX search shows suggestions as visitors type, and advanced controls such as keyword stemming, Boolean operators, redirects and exclusions shape how queries are handled. For stores, it indexes product details and metadata for WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads. Search analytics show what people look for, and the plugin works across WordPress Multisite networks and sub-sites.
