What it does
Membership and community sites often have profiles but little reason for members to come back and talk to each other. This extension adds an activity stream to fill that gap. Members get an activity tab on their profiles, can write public wall posts or post on other members' profiles, and can share photos, hashtags and YouTube or Vimeo links that embed automatically. Likes, comments and replies happen right in the stream, and Ajax pagination loads more posts and comments without reloading the page.
You can place a global activity wall anywhere with a shortcode, or show a logged-in user's personal feed the same way. Admins choose which activity types appear, can show updates when new users register or publish blog posts, and manage every wall post as a custom post type in the backend. There are role-based posting and commenting restrictions, a reporting system for flagged posts, and member privacy settings. It also works with the Ultimate Member Followers and Notifications extensions, WooCommerce and bbPress.
Best for
- Community sites built on Ultimate Member
- Membership portals wanting member-to-member interaction
- Forums or shops using bbPress or WooCommerce

Questions about Social Activity
Do I need Ultimate Member for this to work?
Yes. This is an extension for the Ultimate Member plugin, and it adds activity walls and feeds to the member profiles Ultimate Member creates on your site.
Can members keep their activity private?
Members can set their wall to private or members-only, and they can toggle that setting from their account page. With the Ultimate Member Followers extension, content can also be limited to followers.
How do I moderate what members post?
Members can report inappropriate wall posts. Admins see all wall activity as a custom post type in the backend and can disable walls or restrict posting and commenting for specific user roles.
Will activity from my store or forum show in the feed?
It can. With WooCommerce, new products appear as activity updates with item details, and with bbPress, new forum topics appear in the stream.
Is Social Activity free?
The code of Social Activity is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Social Activity is this?
Version 2.4.0, released Dec 2, 2025. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Social Activity?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Social Activity automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
