What it does
Long registration forms put some visitors off before they ever create an account. This extension gives them another route: they click a social network button, approve the connection, and the account is created or logged in using details from that network. You pick which networks appear, so your forms only show the platforms your audience actually uses. Each network is set up through its own developer platform, where you create the app credentials the extension needs to connect.
Registration can run in one or two steps. The two-step flow asks users to fill in any required fields before the account is created, which keeps profiles complete. The one-step flow registers returning social users automatically once your sync fields are configured. Profile photos can sync from the social account, and members can connect or disconnect linked accounts from their profile page. Shortcodes let you place login buttons anywhere, and the extension imports only basic user information without posting to anyone's social accounts.
Best for
- Community sites built on Ultimate Member
- Sites that want fewer registration form steps
- Online groups whose users already have Discord or GitHub accounts
Features
Adds customizable social login buttons to your Ultimate Member registration and login forms, giving visitors a faster way to sign up or sign in.
Enable only the social networks that matter to your audience, including Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, X, Discord, TwitchTV and GitHub, plus over 20 additional providers.
Collects any required user data in a second step before the account is created, so new profiles are complete from the start.
Registers social network users automatically in a single step when your sync fields are configured, keeping the login process quick for returning visitors.
Users can link or unlink their social accounts directly from their profile page, giving them control over which credentials are attached to their account.
Pulls profile photos from the connected social network so user profiles show a familiar avatar without anyone uploading an image by hand.
Display social login buttons anywhere on your site with customizable shortcodes, so you can match the buttons to your layout and design.
Settings let you choose the session storage method and use a REST API callback endpoint, which helps avoid session problems on sites with full-page caching.

Questions about Social Login
Do I need the Ultimate Member plugin for this to work?
Yes. This is an extension for Ultimate Member, and it adds social login buttons to the registration and login forms that Ultimate Member provides. It works alongside that plugin rather than as a standalone login tool.
Which social networks can my users sign in with?
Supported networks include Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Discord, TwitchTV and GitHub, along with over 20 additional providers. You choose which ones to enable, so only the networks you want appear on your forms.
Will it post anything to my users' social accounts?
No. The extension only imports essential user information, such as details needed for the profile and the profile photo if you enable syncing. It does not post to user accounts, in line with social network policies.
How do I connect each social network?
Each network needs an app created through its own developer platform. You then enter the resulting credentials in the extension settings. Provider secrets can be stored as wp-config.php constants and are masked on the settings screen.
Is Social Login free?
The code of Social Login is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Social Login is this?
Version 2.7.1, released Oct 14, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Social Login?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Social Login automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
