What it does
Community sites built on Ultimate Member give each user a profile, but members have no simple way to keep track of the people they care about. This extension adds a familiar follow model to that setup. A follow or unfollow button appears on user profiles and on member directory cards, and follower and following counts sit alongside it so people can see how connected someone is.
The extension also covers privacy and communication. Users can restrict their profile to their followers, or to the people they follow. New followers trigger an email notification, and each member can adjust those notification preferences from their account page. Site owners can set which user roles may follow and which may be followed. It also works with other Ultimate Member extensions such as Notifications, Private Messages and the Social Activity wall, including user mentions.

Yes. This is an extension for Ultimate Member, and it adds its follow buttons, counts and privacy settings to the profiles and member directories that Ultimate Member creates on your site.
Can members hide their profile from people who don't follow them?
Yes. Users can restrict their profile so only their followers can see it. They can also limit access to only the people they follow, giving them more say over who views their information.
Can I stop certain user roles from following others?
Yes. Role-based permissions let you decide which user roles are allowed to follow other members and which roles can be followed. This is handy when your community has groups with different access levels.
Will users be told when someone follows them?
An email notification goes out when a user gains a new follower. Members can manage these notification preferences from their account page, and the extension also works with the Ultimate Member Notifications extension.
