What it does
Moderating comments usually means leaving the post, opening the WordPress admin, finding the comment and then coming back to check the thread. On busy sites that back and forth adds up. This add-on puts a moderation menu next to each comment on the live page, so you can deal with a problem comment in the context where it appears. Approve and unapprove buttons work through AJAX, which means the action happens without a page reload and you can keep reading the thread.
The tools cover the everyday moderation jobs: approving new comments, pulling back bad comments that were approved automatically, sending comments to spam or trash, and adding an author to the site blacklist with one click. You can also move a comment to a different post using an autocomplete post search and send customizable email notifications to comment authors. Registered users can delete their own comments within a time limit you set. The menu colors, backgrounds and phrases can be adjusted in the add-on settings to suit your design and language.
Best for
- Blogs and news sites using wpDiscuz for comments
- Community sites with active moderators
- Site owners who prefer moderating without the dashboard

Questions about wpDiscuz - Front-end Moderation
Do I need wpDiscuz for this to work?
Yes. This is an add-on for the wpDiscuz commenting system and works on top of it. It adds a moderation menu to wpDiscuz comments on the front end of your site, so wpDiscuz needs to be running for the tools to appear.
Will the page reload every time I approve a comment?
No. The approve and unapprove buttons are powered by AJAX, so the change is applied in place without a page reload. You can moderate several comments in a thread and keep your position on the page.
Can my users remove their own comments?
Registered users can delete their own comments within an editing time limit that you set. Once that window passes, the option to delete is no longer available to them, and moderators keep control of the comment.
Can I make the moderation menu match my site and language?
Yes. The settings let you change the front-end moderation menu colors and backgrounds, and you can translate all of the moderation phrases so the menu reads naturally for your audience.
