  • FixedLetter filtering could be applied more than once when a page displayed multiple Views.
  • ImprovedReplaced GravityView hooks deprecated in version 2.55 with their current equivalents.

What it does

Once a GravityView directory or member list grows past a few dozen entries, scrolling through it gets tedious. This extension adds an A-Z Entry Filter widget with clickable letters, so a visitor can jump straight to entries beginning with a given letter. You choose which field drives the filter, such as a name, a title or another text field, and the plugin narrows the View accordingly. Number links (0-9) cover entries that begin with a digit.

The filter works inside your existing GravityView layouts and view types, and setup needs no coding. It can be styled to match your site and works on desktop, tablet and mobile screens. It also works alongside the Search Bar widget, with Views set to hide data until a search is performed, with the Created By (User) field, and on pages that display more than one View. Accented and non-Latin letters are matched as well.

Best for

  • Business directories built with GravityView
  • Member or staff lists from Gravity Forms entries
  • Site builders who want letter navigation without coding

Questions about A-Z Filters

Do I need GravityView and Gravity Forms to use this?

Yes. A-Z Filters is an extension for GravityView, which displays Gravity Forms entries on the front end. The plugin adds its A-Z Entry Filter widget to your GravityView Views, so both need to be in place on your site.

Can I filter by a field other than the name?

Yes. You choose which entry field the letters filter by. That can be a name, a title or any text field. It can also filter by the Created By (User) field, matching entries by the user's display name.

Will it work with the GravityView search bar?

Yes. The A-Z Entry Filter widget can sit on the same View as the Search Bar widget. It also works on Views set to hide data until a search is performed, showing results once a visitor clicks a letter.

What happens with names that start with a number or an accent?

Number (0-9) links show entries beginning with a digit, and accented and non-Latin letters are matched correctly, so names outside the basic A-Z alphabet still appear under the right filter.

Is A-Z Filters free?

The code of A-Z Filters is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of A-Z Filters is this?

Version 1.4.3, released Oct 1, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update A-Z Filters?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of A-Z Filters automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
