Deeplinking Addon
Deeplinking Addon is a WordPress plugin by Envira Gallery that extends Envira Gallery galleries. It gives every image or video in a gallery its own unique, indexable URL, so you and your visitors can link straight to one specific item instead of the gallery as a whole.

- NewImproved Image Schema
What it does
A standard gallery lightbox usually shares one address for the whole page. If a visitor wants to send a friend a single photo, they have to explain where to scroll or which thumbnail to click. This addon solves that by giving each gallery item a link of its own. Someone can copy the URL while viewing a photo or video, paste it anywhere, and the person who opens it lands on that exact item.
It works inside your existing Envira Gallery setup. You turn deeplinking on or off with a toggle in the gallery's configuration settings. As visitors move through the lightbox, the URL hash updates to match the current image without reloading the page, and the hash is cleared once the lightbox closes so your page addresses stay tidy. It also outputs image schema, which suits galleries where individual pieces matter.
Best for
- Photographers sharing individual shots from portfolio galleries
- Sites already using Envira Gallery for photos or video
- Blogs and agencies that link to specific gallery images
Features
Each image and video in a gallery gets its own indexable URL, so search engines can crawl individual items and people can link to them directly.
The address in the browser changes to reflect the current image as visitors browse the lightbox, with no page reload needed.
Visitors can copy the URL of a specific photo or video and share or bookmark it, and the link opens on that exact item.
Deeplinking is controlled by a single setting in each gallery's configuration, so you choose which galleries use it.
When the lightbox is closed, the addon clears the URL hash so your page address returns to its normal, readable form.
The addon is built to work with Envira Gallery configurations and themes, keeping your existing gallery look and behavior in place.
The addon includes image schema markup, giving search engines structured information about the media in your galleries.

Questions about Deeplinking Addon
Do I need Envira Gallery to use this addon?
Yes. Deeplinking Addon is an extension for Envira Gallery and adds deeplinking to galleries created with it. It works within Envira Gallery configurations and themes, so you need that gallery plugin on your WordPress site.
Does it work with videos as well as photos?
Yes. The addon creates a unique, indexable URL for each individual image or video within a gallery, so video items can be linked to and shared the same way as photos.
Can I turn deeplinking off for some galleries?
Yes. There is a toggle in each gallery's configuration settings that enables or disables deeplinking, so you can use it only on the galleries where direct links make sense.
Will it leave messy hashes in my page URLs?
No. The URL hash updates while a visitor browses the lightbox, and the addon clears it once the lightbox is closed, so the page address goes back to its normal form.
Is Deeplinking Addon free?
The code of Deeplinking Addon is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Deeplinking Addon is this?
Version 1.5.3, released Aug 1, 2024. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Deeplinking Addon?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Deeplinking Addon automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
