What it does
Switching gallery plugins usually means recreating each gallery, uploading images again and retyping titles and captions. On a site with years of photo collections, that can take a long time and leaves room for mistakes. This add-on handles the move for you. It reads your NextGEN galleries and albums and recreates them in Envira, carrying along the titles, captions and tags attached to each image so your organization stays the same after the switch.
The importer lives inside the Envira Gallery menu in your WordPress dashboard, where a dedicated submenu lets you pick which galleries to bring over. You can move everything at once or go gallery by gallery. Large galleries are processed in resumable batches, which helps big imports finish instead of timing out, and running an import again does not fill your Media Library with duplicate images. Once your content is in Envira, you can keep working with it using Envira's own tools, including the Albums add-on.
