What’s new in Featured Entries Extension 2.1.1

Version 2.1.1 · May 14, 2026 Latest
  • FixedCustom styling for featured entries did not apply in DIY Layout and Maps Views.
  • FixedThe "Only show featured entries" option on the Recent Entries widget was ignored, showing all recent entries regardless of the setting.
  • FixedThe gravityview_featured_entries_always_show filter was ignored, causing featured entries to be filtered out by user search even when "Move Featured Entries to Top" was enabled.

What it does

When you display form submissions with GravityView, every entry usually looks the same. That works for a plain directory, but it makes it hard to point visitors toward the submissions that matter most, such as a strong testimonial or an urgent notice. This extension adds a simple way to flag individual entries as featured. Once flagged, they are styled differently from the rest, and you can choose to move them to the top of a View so they appear before regular entries.

The extension works inside your existing GravityView setup, so there is no coding involved. You pick entries through the interface, mark as many as you like, and control how they look on the page. It supports the different View layouts, including lists and tables, and it also connects with the Recent Entries widget, which has an option to show only featured entries. It suits businesses, nonprofits, educators and anyone who publishes Gravity Forms data on the front end.

Best for

  • Sites displaying testimonials collected through Gravity Forms
  • Nonprofits and educators recognizing top contributors
  • GravityView directories that need pinned announcements

Questions about Featured Entries Extension

Do I need GravityView and Gravity Forms to use this?

Yes. This is an extension for GravityView, which displays Gravity Forms entries on your site. It adds featured entry options to your existing Views, so both Gravity Forms and GravityView need to be in place for it to do anything.

Can featured entries appear first in my list?

Yes. There is a "Move Featured Entries to Top" option that places featured entries ahead of regular ones in a View. A filter is also available to keep them visible when visitors search the View.

Will it work with table or map layouts?

The extension works with GravityView layouts such as lists and tables, and custom styling for featured entries applies in DIY Layout and Maps Views as well.

Is there a limit on how many entries I can feature?

No limit is described. You can highlight as many entries as you want at the same time, which is useful for showing several testimonials or a group of top contributors together.
