What’s new in Gravity Flow Stripe 2.1.0
- NewAdded delayed feed support for the Stripe Card Element, allowing the workflow to be started only when a payment is captured via Stripe Card.
- NewAdded support for the "Failed" entry that will be created when the Stripe Card Element is used and the payment fails. Workflow will be marked as "Cancelled" when the payment fails.
- FixedFixed the PHP 8.1 deprecation notice for trim() that occurs when the add-on is activated on a new site.
- NewAPI: Added the [gravityflowstripe_pre_cancel_workflow](https://docs.gravityflow.io/gravityflowstripe_pre_cancel_workflow/) action to allow for custom actions to be performed before the workflow is cancelled due to a failed payment.
What it does
Many businesses need to collect payment details up front but only charge once someone has approved the order, confirmed availability or gathered more information. Charging at submission and refunding later is messy. This extension lets you authorize a payment when a Gravity Forms entry is submitted, then hold it while the workflow runs. Depending on approvals or later input, a step can capture the payment or void the authorization. That suits pre-orders, delayed captures and conditional payments that depend on a review.
The extension works alongside WordPress, Gravity Forms, Gravity Flow and the Gravity Forms Stripe Add-On. It adds four step types (Capture Payment, Cancel Payment, Refund Payment and Cancel Subscription) that you place anywhere in a workflow. Each step's processing status appears in the entry timeline, so you can trace what happened to a payment. It also handles Stripe Card Element cases, such as starting a workflow only after payment is captured and cancelling the workflow when a payment fails.
Best for
- Businesses taking pre-orders that need approval before charging
- Organizations running approval workflows with Gravity Flow
- Sites managing Stripe subscriptions through Gravity Forms
Features
Card details are secured and the payment is authorized when the form is first submitted, which works well for pre-orders or payments that depend on approval.
A Capture Payment step charges the authorized amount further along the workflow, after approval or fulfillment steps have finished.
A Cancel Payment step voids an authorization when the workflow does not go ahead, so the customer is never charged.
A Refund Payment step can refund payments made by the current entry as well as Stripe transactions linked to other forms.
Create and cancel Stripe subscriptions within workflows, with a dedicated Cancel Subscription step for ending recurring billing.
The processing status of every payment step is recorded in the workflow entry timeline, giving you an audit trail for each transaction.
With the Stripe Card Element, a failed payment creates a Failed entry and the workflow is marked as Cancelled. A developer action lets you run custom code first.
Accept payments in multiple currencies, including Euros and US Dollars, for businesses that bill customers in different regions.

Questions about Gravity Flow Stripe
What other plugins do I need for this to work?
The extension works with WordPress, Gravity Forms, Gravity Flow and the Gravity Forms Stripe Add-On. It builds on those tools, adding Stripe payment steps to workflows you create in Gravity Flow.
Can I hold a payment until someone approves the order?
Yes. The payment is authorized when the form is submitted, and a Capture Payment step later in the workflow charges it. If the request is rejected, a Cancel Payment step voids the authorization instead.
What happens if a customer's card payment fails?
When the Stripe Card Element is used and the payment fails, a Failed entry is created and the workflow is marked as Cancelled. Developers can hook into an action to run custom tasks before that cancellation happens.
Can I refund payments that came from a different form?
Yes. The Refund Payment step supports payments made by the current entry and also other Stripe transactions linked to different forms, so refunds can be handled from within one workflow.
Is Gravity Flow Stripe free?
The code of Gravity Flow Stripe is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Gravity Flow Stripe is this?
Version 2.1.0, released Jun 12, 2025. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Gravity Flow Stripe?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Gravity Flow Stripe automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
