What it does

Standard WooCommerce checkout works well for simple sales, but some orders need more steps before they are finished. A service business might need a project approved, assigned and delivered before the customer is charged. This extension handles that by creating a Gravity Forms entry every time a WooCommerce order is placed. Gravity Flow then runs a workflow on that entry, so the order moves through the stages you define, with the right people notified along the way.

The extension adds workflow steps built for store operations: payment submission, refunds, payment capture and payment cancellation. Customers can pay at a later point in the workflow instead of only at checkout, thanks to a payment gateway that supports deferred payment. Store managers can authorize at checkout and capture once the work is done, such as when a translation project is delivered. It runs alongside WooCommerce, Gravity Forms and Gravity Flow, and supports payments in US Dollars and Euros.

Best for

  • Service businesses that charge after work is delivered
  • WooCommerce stores with multi-step order approvals
  • Teams already running Gravity Forms and Gravity Flow

Features

Entries created from orders

Every WooCommerce order automatically creates a Gravity Forms entry, which lets Gravity Flow start a custom workflow for that order without manual data entry.

Payment step at any stage

Customers can submit payment at any point in the workflow, so you can collect money after an approval or review instead of only at checkout.

Refunds with email approval

Customers request refunds through a form, and store managers approve and process them from a single approval link without logging in to WordPress.

Capture and cancel steps

Handle pre-authorized WooCommerce payments by capturing or canceling them at the right stage of the workflow, giving you control over when money changes hands.

Pay later checkout gateway

A dedicated WooCommerce payment gateway supports deferred payments, letting customers place an order now and pay at a later date in the workflow.

Assignee payment notifications

Payment steps can notify the assigned team members, keeping everyone involved in an order informed as it moves forward.

Feed field mapping

Feed settings let you map WooCommerce order data to Gravity Forms fields so each entry carries the details your workflow needs.

US Dollar and Euro support

Payments can be handled in US Dollars and Euros, which suits stores selling to customers in those currencies.

Questions about Gravity Flow WooCommerce

What do I need to use this extension?

It works with WooCommerce, Gravity Forms and Gravity Flow. Orders placed in WooCommerce become Gravity Forms entries, and Gravity Flow runs the workflows on them, so all three need to be in place on your site.

Can customers pay after they place an order?

Yes. The extension includes a payment gateway that supports deferred payments, and a payment step can be placed anywhere in the workflow. Customers can order first and pay later, for example after a quote or approval.

How are refunds handled?

Customers can request a refund through a form. The store manager then receives an approval link and can approve and process the refund with one click, without signing in to WordPress.

Which currencies are supported?

Payments are supported in US Dollars and Euros, so stores selling in either currency can use the payment, capture, cancel and refund steps for their orders.

Is Gravity Flow WooCommerce free?

The code of Gravity Flow WooCommerce is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of Gravity Flow WooCommerce is this?

Version 1.7.0, released Mar 21, 2024. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update Gravity Flow WooCommerce?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Gravity Flow WooCommerce automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
