What’s new in GravityRevisions 1.9.0

Version 1.9.0 · Aug 27, 2026 Latest
  • NewBacks up the current form as a new revision before a restore, so a restore can be undone.
  • NewIncludes form notifications and confirmations in form revisions, so they are versioned and restored with the form.
  • NewAdds a revision count to the Gravity Forms Forms table.
  • FixedA form revision being applied to the wrong form — revisions are now validated against their own form before restoring.
  • FixedA single form save creating more than one revision, inflating the revision count.
  • FixedEditing a notification or confirmation on its own not creating a form revision, leaving the change out of the form's revision history.
  • FixedA "translation loading was triggered too early" notice on WordPress 6.7 and later, caused by loading settings translations during startup.
  • ImprovedAdds `before`/`after` actions around form-revision save, restore, and delete: - `gk/gravityrevisions/form-revisions/save/before` and `/after`; - `gk/gravityrevisions/form-revisions/restore/before` and `/after`; - `gk/gravityrevisions/form-revisions/delete/before` and `/after`.

What it does

When a form entry gets edited, the original values are usually gone for good. A typo, a wrong field update or a teammate's mistake can overwrite information you needed. This plugin solves that by saving a revision every time an entry changes, so you keep a record of each version. You can review the history of any entry, see what was modified and bring back prior data. That makes it useful for customer submissions, applications and other data collection forms where accuracy matters.

It works inside your existing Gravity Forms setup and needs very little configuration. Beyond entries, it also keeps revisions of the forms themselves, including notifications and confirmations, so those settings are versioned and restored along with the form. Before a form restore, the current form is backed up as a new revision, which means a restore can be undone. The Forms table shows a revision count for each form, and developers get before and after actions around saving, restoring and deleting form revisions.

Best for

  • Sites collecting applications or customer submissions with Gravity Forms
  • Teams where several editors update form entries
  • Agencies that need an audit trail for client form data

Features

Automatic entry revisions

Every change made to a Gravity Forms entry is saved as a revision automatically, so earlier values are kept instead of being overwritten.

Detailed change history

Each entry gets a structured timeline of its modifications, making it easy to review what changed and keep track of updates over time.

Restore earlier versions

Roll an entry back to a previous version to recover lost information or undo a mistake made during editing.

Form revisions with notifications

Form revisions include notifications and confirmations, so those settings are versioned and restored together with the form itself.

Undoable restores

Before a form is restored, the current form is saved as a new revision, giving you a way back if the restore was not what you wanted.

Revision counts in the Forms table

The Gravity Forms Forms table displays how many revisions each form has, so you can see editing activity at a glance.

Role-based access

Different team members, such as admins and editors, can track changes according to their permissions within the site.

Developer hooks

Before and after actions fire around saving, restoring and deleting form revisions, letting developers run custom code at those points.

Questions about GravityRevisions

Does this track changes to forms as well as entries?

Yes. It saves revisions of Gravity Forms entries and also keeps revisions of the forms themselves. Form revisions include notifications and confirmations, so editing one of those creates a revision and they are restored along with the form.

What happens if I restore the wrong revision?

Before a form is restored, the plugin backs up the current form as a new revision. That means you can reverse a restore by going back to the revision that was saved just before it.

Can my editors see the revision history too?

The plugin supports multiple user roles, so team members such as admins and editors can track changes based on their permissions. That gives everyone working on entries a shared, transparent record of updates.

Do I need Gravity Forms to use it?

Yes. It is an add-on built for Gravity Forms and works directly within your existing Gravity Forms workflows, recording changes to the entries and forms you already have.

Is GravityRevisions free?

The code of GravityRevisions is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of GravityRevisions is this?

Version 1.9.0, released Aug 27, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update GravityRevisions?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of GravityRevisions automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
