What’s new in PDF for GravityView 1.2.0
- NewFeature: Generate PDFs from the Layout Builder View
- FixedBug: Correctly use the View Name when the PDF Filename is not set
What it does
If you collect data with Gravity Forms and display it with GravityView, you often need that data in a document people can keep, print or forward. Certificates, invoices, resumes and reports are common examples. Building those by hand or copying entries into a separate tool takes time and leads to inconsistent results. This plugin generates the PDF straight from the entry, pulling in the submitted data so each document is personalized to the person or record it belongs to.
Design happens in a drag-and-drop editor where you set headers, footers, fonts and colors and add your logo, all without code. The output follows your front-end design, so documents look consistent with your site, and layouts are clean and ready for printing. You can save templates and reuse them across documents. PDFs can also be generated from the Layout Builder View. Once a document is ready, you can offer it through a download link or send it automatically by email.

Questions about PDF for GravityView
What kinds of documents can I create with this plugin?
The plugin is suited to certificates, invoices, resumes and reports, along with other documents built from form data. Each PDF pulls information from a Gravity Forms entry displayed in GravityView, so every file reflects the specific record it was generated from.
Do I need to know code to design the PDFs?
No. The drag-and-drop editor lets you customize headers, footers, fonts and colors and add your logo visually. You can also save your designs as templates and reuse them, so you do not need to rebuild a layout each time.
How do users receive the generated PDF?
You can offer a direct download link so users fetch the file themselves, or have the PDF sent automatically as an email attachment to clients or the people who submitted the form.
Does it work with GravityView's Layout Builder View?
Yes. PDFs can be generated from the Layout Builder View, in addition to your other GravityView entries. If you do not set a PDF filename, the View name is used for the file.
