What it does
Standard comment sections handle plain text well, but readers often want to point to a video, a photo or a social post. Pasting a bare link forces everyone else to click away to see what is being discussed. This add-on solves that by turning supported links into embedded media inside the comment itself, so the conversation and the content it refers to stay together on your page.
The plugin builds on the oEmbed standard and supports more than 30 video providers, including YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion and Vevo, plus image sources like Flickr, Instagram and GettyImages and audio or social sources such as SoundCloud, Twitter, Facebook and Reddit. Commenters get a live preview before posting, and site owners get settings for video playback and embed display. It runs inside wpDiscuz's AJAX-driven comment interface, so it fits sites already using wpDiscuz.
