What it does

Comment sections often rely on a small group of regulars while most visitors read and leave. This add-on gives people a reason to join in by tying comment activity to myCRED points. When a comment gets an upvote, its author earns points. When it gets a downvote, the author loses points. People who vote on comments can earn points too, which rewards readers for helping sort useful replies from weak ones.

Setup happens on a dedicated myCRED Hooks page in the WordPress dashboard, where you choose how many points are awarded or deducted for likes, dislikes and voting actions. myCRED badges and ranks can be shown under comment author avatars, and you can switch that display off if you prefer a cleaner comment list. Logging templates record points activity for users and admins, and the layout works on mobile screens and right-to-left languages.

Questions about wpDiscuz - myCRED Integration

Do I need both wpDiscuz and myCRED for this to work?

Yes. This is an add-on that connects the two, so it relies on wpDiscuz for the comment system and myCRED for points, badges and ranks. It adds the link between comment votes and the myCRED points balance.

Can commenters lose points as well as earn them?

Yes. Comment authors gain points when their comments get likes and lose points when they get dislikes. You control how many points each action is worth from the myCRED Hooks page in the dashboard.

Do people who vote on comments get anything?

They can. The voter rewards option gives points to users who like or dislike comments, and you set the amount. This encourages readers to take part in rating discussions.

Can I hide badges and ranks in the comment list?

Yes. There is an option to show or hide myCRED badges and ranks under commenter avatars, so you can keep them visible or use a simpler comment layout.
