What it does
Long comment threads can get hard to follow when people reply to each other without a clear way to point at a person or an earlier comment. This addon gives commenters two simple tags. Typing @ followed by a name brings up a user search bar that finds registered users and guest commenters, and #comment-id points to a specific comment. Each comment shows its ID in the top-right corner with an easy copy option, so referencing one takes a moment.
Once posted, mentions turn into clickable links with avatars. Hovering over one opens a pop-up with user or comment details, including text excerpts, and clicking takes the reader to the user's profile or straight to the referenced comment. Mentioned users and comment authors receive email notifications, and you can edit the email content from the plugin's backend. It works inside wpDiscuz and needs the Comment Rich Editor enabled, and each function can be turned on or off on its own.
Best for
- Blogs running wpDiscuz with active comment sections
- Community and forum-style sites with frequent back-and-forth replies
- Publishers who want commenters notified when someone mentions them
Features
Commenters can mention people with @username and point to a specific comment with #comment-id, making replies in busy threads clearer.
An automatic search bar appears while tagging, helping commenters find any registered user or guest commenter without typing a full name.
Everyone who is mentioned, and the authors of referenced comments, receive an email notification so they know someone is talking to them.
You can change the content of the mention notification emails from the plugin's backend to match the tone of your site.
Mentions become clickable links with user avatars. Hovering shows a pop-up with user or comment details and text excerpts.
Each comment displays its unique ID in the top-right corner, with an easy copy option for referencing it in another reply.
Clicking a mention sends readers to the mentioned user's profile, and clicking a comment reference jumps directly to that comment.
Every function and component can be enabled or disabled separately, so you keep only the mention tools your community needs.
