What it does
Comment sections often hold some of the best material on a site, but it stays buried at the bottom of individual posts. This addon pulls that activity out into widgets so visitors can spot popular discussions and active contributors from anywhere on the site. The six widgets cover Most Voted Comments, Active Comment Threads, Most Commented Posts, Recent Comments, Top Rated Posts and Active Comment Authors, giving readers several ways to find conversations worth joining.
Each widget can run on its own as a simple widget, or you can group five of them into a single tabbed box for a compact sidebar. You set the title, the number of items shown and the timeframe for the statistics, then adjust background and icon colors, width, margins and padding to match your design. The widgets are responsive, support right to left languages and use AJAX to refresh content within wpDiscuz without reloading the page.
Best for
- Blogs using wpDiscuz with active comment sections
- Community and news sites that reward frequent commenters
- Publishers wanting popular discussions visible in sidebars
Features
Choose from Most Voted Comments, Active Comment Threads, Most Commented Posts, Recent Comments, Top Rated Posts and Active Comment Authors to highlight different kinds of activity.
Combine five widgets into one tabbed interface so several lists share a single compact space in your sidebar or widget area.
Give each widget its own title and decide how many items it lists, so the display fits the space and your audience.
Set the time period each widget draws its statistics from, letting you focus on recent activity or a longer stretch of discussion.
Adjust background and icon colors, width, margins and padding so the widgets blend in with your theme and branding.
The widgets adapt to different screen sizes and devices, and they support right to left languages for sites written in scripts like Arabic or Hebrew.
Within wpDiscuz, widgets refresh through AJAX, so fresh and active discussions appear without visitors needing to reload the page.

Questions about wpDiscuz - Widgets Addon
Do I need wpDiscuz for this to work?
Yes. This is an addon built specifically for the wpDiscuz commenting system, and it reads its data from wpDiscuz comments, votes and ratings. You need wpDiscuz running on your site for the widgets to display anything.
Can I show only one widget instead of the tabbed box?
Yes. Every widget can be placed individually as a simple widget. If you prefer a tidier sidebar, you can instead combine five of them into a single tabbed interface and switch between lists with tabs.
Will the widgets match my theme's look?
You can change background and icon colors, width, margins and padding for the widgets, along with titles and the number of items shown. These settings let you bring the widgets in line with your site's design.
Does it work on multilingual or right to left sites?
The widgets support right to left languages and are responsive, so they adjust to phones, tablets and desktops as well as sites written in RTL scripts.
Is wpDiscuz - Widgets Addon free?
The code of wpDiscuz - Widgets Addon is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
