What it does

Running a blog and a forum on the same site often splits your community in two. Readers comment under a post while forum members discuss the same subject in a separate thread, and you end up managing both by hand. This addon closes that gap. When you publish new blog content, it creates a matching topic in your wpForo forum, and any edits or deletions on one side are reflected on the other.

Comments and replies move in both directions. A new comment on a blog post appears as a reply in the forum topic, and new forum replies show up as comments on the original article. It works with native WordPress comments and with wpDiscuz, supports custom post types, and lets you pick which forums receive cross-posted content. Existing posts and their comments can be synced with one click, and frontend links help visitors move between the article and its topic.

Best for

  • WordPress sites running both a blog and a wpForo forum
  • Community sites that want article discussions inside the forum
  • Publishers using wpDiscuz or native WordPress comments

Features

Blog posts become forum topics

Publishing a new blog post automatically creates a matching topic in your wpForo forum, so every article gets its own discussion thread without manual copying.

Two-way comment syncing

Blog comments are posted as forum replies, and new forum replies are added as comments on the original blog post, keeping one conversation in both places.

Add, edit and delete sync

Changes made to a blog post or its forum topic, including deletions, are reflected on the connected counterpart so both versions stay consistent.

Works with wpDiscuz

Supports native WordPress comments as well as the wpDiscuz commenting plugin, so you can keep the comment system your site already uses.

Custom post type support

Cross-posting is available for any post type, which means custom content formats can be linked to forum topics just like regular blog posts.

Choose target forums

Designate the specific forums where blog posts should be cross-posted, giving you control over where new topics appear and how the forum stays organized.

One-click sync for old posts

Existing blog content and its comments can be cross-posted to the forum with one click, bringing older discussions into your community archive.

Links between article and topic

Frontend links such as View Crossposted Topic on blog posts and View Crossposted Article on forum topics help visitors move between the two.

Questions about wpForo - Blog Cross Posting

Does this work with forum plugins other than wpForo?

No. The addon is built specifically for wpForo forums. It connects your WordPress blog to a wpForo forum, so you need wpForo running on your site to use the cross-posting and comment syncing features.

Will forum replies show up on my blog posts?

Yes. Syncing runs both ways for discussions. Comments left on a blog post are posted as replies in the linked forum topic, and new replies in that forum topic are added as comments on the original blog post.

Can I cross-post articles I published before adding the addon?

Yes. There is a one-click synchronization option for older posts. It cross-posts existing blog content along with its associated comments to your forum, so past discussions become part of the forum as well.

Can I control which forums receive my blog posts?

Yes. You can designate specific forums where blog posts should be cross-posted. The backend settings panel also lets you adjust cross-posting behavior and manage the display components, such as the links between articles and topics.
