What it does
The default WordPress Media Library makes you open files one at a time to change their details, and its search options are limited. That gets slow when you have hundreds or thousands of files spread across posts, pages, products and galleries. This plugin lists all of your media in rows and columns, so you can scan your library, spot gaps such as empty alt text or missing captions, and fix them in place. Changes save directly to your site, so there is no need to export and reimport data for routine edits.
Multi-condition filters help you narrow the list by keyword, file type, upload date, associated post or product, and missing metadata. Once you have the files you want, you can apply bulk edits or use formulas to replace phrases or copy data between fields, such as moving captions into alt text. You can also add columns for custom fields, including ones created with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and view data from parent posts, pages or WooCommerce products. Import and export with Excel and Google Sheets covers outside editing, reporting and backups.
Best for
- Sites with large image and file libraries
- Content managers fixing missing alt text and captions
- WooCommerce stores managing product images
Features
Images, videos, PDFs and audio files appear together in one spreadsheet, giving you an overview of your media and a single place to run bulk operations.
Update titles, alt text, captions, descriptions and custom fields across hundreds or thousands of media files at once to keep metadata consistent throughout the library.
Find files by keyword, file type, upload date, associated posts or products, empty alt text, missing captions and other conditions, then edit only the matching results.
Apply formulas to change data automatically across many files, such as replacing phrases in descriptions or moving captions into the alt text field.
Import metadata from spreadsheets or export detailed media data for editing elsewhere, reporting, sharing with collaborators or keeping a backup outside WordPress.
Add columns for custom fields, including fields created with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) or other plugins, so the sheet matches the data your site uses.
See media alongside data from parent posts, pages or WooCommerce products, including categories, tags and brands, to keep content organized together.
Resize, rename, reorder or hide columns so the spreadsheet shows the media details you work with most and keeps the rest out of the way.

Questions about WP Sheet Editor Media Library
Can I fix missing alt text on lots of images at once?
Yes. You can filter the spreadsheet to show files with empty alt text or missing captions, then fill them in with bulk edits. Formulas can also copy existing data, such as captions, into the alt text field across many files.
Does it work with custom fields from ACF?
Yes. You can add new columns to the spreadsheet for custom fields, including fields generated by Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) or other plugins, and edit them alongside standard media details like titles and descriptions.
Do I need to export my media data to make changes?
No. Edits are made directly inside WordPress and saved to your site, so routine changes do not require exporting and reimporting. Import and export with Excel and Google Sheets is available when you want to edit externally or keep a backup.
Which file types does it handle?
The spreadsheet covers the files in your WordPress media library, including images, videos, PDFs and audio files. You can filter by file type when you only want to work with one kind of media.
