What it does
A list of events tells people what is happening and when, but it does a poor job of showing where. For organizers running events across several venues, that gap makes it harder for visitors to find something nearby. This add-on works with the EventON plugin and pulls your existing event data onto one Google Map. Each location gets a marker, and clicking it opens an info window with event details, so the map becomes a visual guide to your calendar.
When many events share a venue, the map groups them into clusters to keep things tidy, and it pans and zooms to bring relevant events into view. Filters from EventON, such as category and date, update the markers as visitors change their selections. You can adjust marker icons, map styles, default zoom and the center point to suit your site. A Google Maps API key is needed for the map to work. It suits city-wide expos, multi-venue festivals and conferences with many sessions.
Best for
- Sites already running the EventON calendar plugin
- Organizers of multi-venue festivals and city-wide expos
- Conference sites listing many sessions across locations
Features
Every event location appears on a single Google Map, giving visitors an at-a-glance view of where your events take place.
Uses the same custom markers you set in EventON, along with customizable info windows that show event details directly on the map.
Multiple events happening at the same location are grouped into clusters automatically, which keeps the map uncluttered and easier to navigate.
The map centers and zooms on event locations on its own, so visitors see the relevant events without having to hunt around.
Visitors can filter by category or date, and the map markers update to match the filtered results as selections change.
Change marker icons, map styles, default zoom levels and center points to fit your site's design and the area your events cover.
Designed to work alongside the Event Slider, Filters Plus and Event Lists Extension add-ons for a fuller event browsing setup.

Questions about Event Map
Does this work without the EventON plugin?
No. It is an add-on for EventON and takes its event data, markers and filters from that plugin. You need EventON on your site for the map to display your events.
Do I need a Google Maps API key?
Yes. The map is rendered with Google Maps, so you need to supply a Google Maps API key for it to load and show your event locations.
What happens when several events are at the same venue?
The add-on clusters events that share a location into a single grouped marker. This keeps the map clean and lets visitors open the cluster to explore the events held there.
Can I change how the map looks?
Yes. You can set marker icons, choose map styles, and define the default zoom level and center point, so the map fits your branding and the region your events cover.
Is Event Map free?
The code of Event Map is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Event Map is this?
Version 1.6.2, released Aug 27, 2025.
