What it does
If your events are managed in an outside calendar app, keeping a website calendar in step usually means copying each event by hand. This add-on reads the ICS format that Outlook, iCal and Google Calendar can all export, then creates matching events in EventON. You can upload a file once, or point the add-on at an ICS URL and have it import on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule, which keeps the site calendar current without repeated manual entry.
Before anything is saved, imported events appear in a list where you can select, deselect or edit them. A side panel lets you adjust times and other details across several events. Each event's UID is used to match it with earlier imports, so changes in the source calendar update existing entries instead of creating duplicates. Timezone options and all-day event detection help events show at the right times, and imported events carry a notice on their edit page so you know where they came from.
Best for
- Sites already running the EventON calendar plugin
- Event managers who keep schedules in Google Calendar or Outlook
- Organizations publishing recurring calendars from an external feed
Features
Upload an .ics file exported from Outlook, iCal, Google Calendar or another calendar app and turn its entries into EventON events.
Link an external ICS URL and set imports to run daily, weekly or monthly so new and changed events arrive on their own.
Unique identifiers match incoming events to ones already imported, so edits made in the source calendar update the existing events on your site.
Choose your website's timezone, the timezone stored in the ICS file, or a custom timezone so imported events display at the correct times.
Events marked as all-day in the source file are recognized and imported that way, which saves fixing their times afterward.
See every event from the file in an interactive list, then select, deselect or edit entries before you finalize the import.
An expandable side panel lets you adjust imported event times, add user interaction values and change other details for several events at once.
After an import you get links to the newly created events, and you can quickly delete all imported events if you need to start over.

Questions about EventON ICS importer
Which calendar apps can I import events from?
Any app that exports the ICS format. The add-on is described as working with events from Outlook, iCal and Google Calendar, either through an uploaded .ics file or an external ICS URL.
Will changes in my Google Calendar show up on my site?
Yes, if you use a scheduled import from an ICS URL. The add-on matches events by their UID, so updates to previously imported events are synced to the existing EventON entries rather than added as new copies.
Can I choose which events get imported?
Yes. Imported events appear in a list where you can select or deselect each one and edit details such as times before the import is finalized. A side panel also supports changes across several events.
Do I need EventON for this add-on to work?
Yes. It is built only for EventON calendars and extends their event management, so the EventON plugin needs to be active on your site.
Is EventON ICS importer free?
The code of EventON ICS importer is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of EventON ICS importer is this?
Version 2.0.6, released Jun 10, 2025.
