What it does
Popular events fill up, and once RSVP capacity is reached, interested guests usually have nowhere to go. Then a few people cancel at the last minute and seats sit empty. This add-on closes that gap. When an event is full, the event card lets visitors join a waitlist instead, and they can see how many people are already on it. When a spot opens, waitlisted guests are moved to the attendee list and notified, so the opening gets filled without you chasing anyone by hand.
The add-on works inside the existing EventON and RSVP Events Add-on setup. RSVP and waitlist capacities and preferences are set on the event edit page, next to the settings you already use. In the backend, you can view and sort waitlisted guests, move people between the waitlist and attendee lists, and send customized emails to the waitlist. It also works with related add-ons such as Invitees and RSVP Points, which suits exclusive events and prioritized waitlist access.
Best for
- EventON sites running RSVP events that often sell out
- Organizers of workshops, meetups or classes with limited seats
- Exclusive events using the Invitees or RSVP Points add-ons
Features
Waitlist on event cards
When an event reaches capacity, guests can join a waitlist directly from the event card instead of being turned away.
Automatic spot filling
When cancellations occur, waitlisted guests are transferred to the attendee list automatically, so open spots are filled without manual work.
Open spot notifications
You receive alerts when spots open up, and waitlisted guests are notified automatically so last-minute openings get confirmed sooner.
Visible waitlist count
Attendees can see the current size of the waitlist, which gives them a clear picture before they sign up.
Backend waitlist management
View, sort and manage waitlisted guests in the event dashboard, and move people between the waitlist and attendee lists as needed.
Emails to waitlisted guests
Send customized emails to waitlisted participants straight from the backend to keep them informed about the event and their status.
Waitlist-specific RSVP notices

Questions about EventON RSVP Events Waitlist
Does this work on its own or do I need other plugins?
It is an add-on for EventON and works with the RSVP Events Add-on. The waitlist extends the RSVP system, so you need both EventON and the RSVP Events Add-on in place for it to function.
What happens when a confirmed attendee cancels?
The add-on automatically transfers waitlisted guests to the attendee list when cancellations occur. Waitlisted guests are notified automatically, and you also receive alerts when spots open up.
Can I move guests between the waitlist and attendee list manually?
Yes. The backend management tools let you view and sort waitlisted guests in the event dashboard and move people between the waitlist and attendee lists whenever you need to.
Can guests see how long the waitlist is?
Yes. Attendees can see the size of the waitlist on the event, and guests who join receive waitlist-specific confirmation messages so their status is clear.
Is EventON RSVP Events Waitlist free?
The code of EventON RSVP Events Waitlist is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of EventON RSVP Events Waitlist is this?
Version 1.1.5, released Sep 23, 2025.
