What it does
Publishing events on a calendar only helps if people come back to check it. This add-on gives your visitors a way to sign up for updates instead. You can place a subscribe button in a calendar or anywhere else on your site with shortcodes, and the sign-up form opens in a lightbox. Subscribers can pick the event types they care about, and they receive an email when a matching new event goes live.
On the admin side, you control the wording of confirmation, verification and new event emails, and you decide how sign-ups and cancellations are handled. New subscribers can be held in draft status for approval, and unsubscribes can either deactivate or delete a record. The list can sync with MailChimp or be exported as a CSV file. It suits businesses, nonprofits, entertainment venues and community groups already running EventON.

Does this work without the EventON plugin?
No. It is an add-on built as an extension for the EventON calendar plugin, so you need EventON running on your site. It adds subscription features on top of the calendars you already create there.
Can subscribers choose which events they get emails about?
Yes. Subscribers can select specific event types to follow, and they only receive notifications for those. They can also switch their chosen event types or unsubscribe later from the front end of your site.
Can I use my subscriber list with MailChimp?
Yes. The add-on can sync your subscriber list with MailChimp. If you use a different email tool, you can also export the whole list as a CSV file and bring it into other platforms.
Can I approve subscribers before they get emails?
You can set new subscribers to draft status so you review them first. You can also restrict the subscription form to logged-in users and decide whether unsubscribed people are deactivated or deleted.
