What’s new in EventON Action User 2.5.6
- FixedSubmit another event after not working
What it does
Running a calendar that relies on outside contributors usually means giving people admin access or collecting event details by email and entering them yourself. This add-on removes that step. You place a submission form on any page with a shortcode or an EventON block, and users fill it in from the front of your site. The form opens in a lightbox that works on mobile, and you choose which fields appear and in what order.
Control stays with you. You can limit submissions to logged-in users or open them to everyone, save new events as drafts for review or publish them right away, and assign default categories. Permissions can follow WordPress user roles or be set per user. CAPTCHA blocks bots, guests leave a name and email, and contributors can add private notes for admins. It suits community portals, organization calendars and any EventON site that gathers events from its audience.
Best for
- Community portals that collect events from members
- Organizations sharing a calendar across many contributors
- EventON sites that want moderated public event submissions
Features
Add an event submission form to any page using a shortcode or an EventON block, so contributors never need access to the WordPress admin area.
Choose which fields show on the form and set their order, and add custom HTML fields to collect exactly the details your calendar needs.
Save submitted events as drafts for review or publish them immediately, and assign default event types so new entries are classified consistently.
Logged-in users get a dashboard where they can search, edit and delete their submitted events, within the permissions you have set.
Grant submission and editing rights by WordPress user role, or configure capabilities for individual users to match how your site is run.
Built-in CAPTCHA validation filters out bots, and an optional rule limits each logged-in user to a single event submission.
Collect names and emails from guests who submit events, and let submitters send private notes that only site administrators can read.
Send notification emails for each new submission, redirect users to a chosen page afterward, and let them submit several events in one session.

Questions about EventON Action User
Does this work without EventON?
No. EventON Action User is an add-on for the EventON calendar plugin. It adds submission and user management features on top of an existing EventON setup, so you need EventON running on your site first.
Can people submit events without creating an account?
Yes, if you allow it. You can open submissions to everyone or restrict them to logged-in users. When guests submit, the form collects their name and email, and CAPTCHA helps keep spam and bot entries out.
Can I review events before they go live?
Yes. You can set the default status for new submissions to draft, which lets you check and approve each event before it appears on the calendar. You can also choose to publish submissions immediately if you prefer.
Can users edit their events after submitting them?
Logged-in users can use a front-end event manager to search, edit and delete the events they submitted. What they are allowed to do depends on the role-based or per-user permissions you configure.
Is EventON Action User free?
The code of EventON Action User is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of EventON Action User is this?
Version 2.5.6, released Jul 16, 2025.
