What it does
A full month calendar can get crowded when a site runs many events. This add-on narrows the view to a single day, so visitors see only that date's events and can step forward or back using navigation arrows. A day strip across the top marks each date with up to three color-coded dots, and hovering a dot shows the event name, which helps people spot busy days quickly.
The add-on works inside EventON. You set it up through the EventON shortcode generator, where you can choose a fixed day or an incremented day setting, and you style it from the EventON Appearance settings panel. Events for later days load with AJAX only when a visitor moves forward. It also supports the month jumper and EventON's filtering, making it a good fit for conferences, festivals, community hubs and corporate event pages.
Best for
- Conference and festival sites with packed daily schedules
- Community hubs listing many local events
- Corporate sites already running the EventON calendar
Features
Color-coded day strip
A strip of dates shows up to three event dots per day, and hover tooltips reveal event names so visitors can scan the schedule.
Single-day event display
Events for one selected day appear on their own, letting visitors find what they need without surrounding dates getting in the way.
AJAX loading of later days
Events for the following days load dynamically only when a visitor navigates forward, instead of loading everything when the page opens.
Current date focus box
An optional box shows the selected date and its total number of events, with arrows for moving between days and months.
Shortcode generator options
Configure the daily view inside the EventON shortcode generator, including fixed or incremented day settings for different placements on your site.
Appearance customization
Adjust fonts, colors, hover effects and backgrounds through the EventON Appearance settings panel to match the rest of your site.
Month jumper and filters
Visitors can jump straight to a specific month and filter daily events by categories or other criteria using EventON's filtering system.

Questions about EventON Daily View
Does this work without the main EventON plugin?
No. This is an add-on for the EventON calendar plugin. Its settings live in the EventON shortcode generator and Appearance panel, and it displays events you manage in EventON.
Will a large number of events slow the daily view down?
The add-on uses AJAX so events for the following days load only when a visitor navigates forward. That keeps the initial view limited to the current day instead of loading every event at once.
Can visitors filter events in the daily view?
Yes. It works with EventON's filtering system, so visitors can narrow the day's events by categories or other criteria. It is also listed as compatible with related add-ons such as Filters Plus, Event Slider and ActionUser.
Can I change how the daily view looks?
Yes. Fonts, colors, hover effects and backgrounds can be set in the EventON Appearance settings, and the date focus box can be shown or hidden depending on your layout.
Is EventON Daily View free?
The code of EventON Daily View is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of EventON Daily View is this?
Version 2.1.11, released Jan 16, 2025.
