What it does
A crowded events calendar is hard to browse. When dozens of entries share the same month, visitors have to scroll and scan to find the few that interest them. This add-on extends the filtering in EventON so people can sort events by event type, time of day, location and other categories you set up. Long lists of filter terms stay manageable, because you can show only a few at first with a See All option, and visitors can search within each filter to jump straight to the term they want.
You also get control over where and how filters appear. Filters can sit in a sidebar next to the calendar instead of the usual top bar, open in a lightbox pop-up, or appear as a fast filter bar in the calendar header using event type icons. On the admin side, a block-based calendar shortcode generator lets you add and adjust filters from the backend. It suits anyone already running EventON who wants visitors to find relevant events with less scrolling.
Best for
- Sites running EventON with large, busy event calendars
- Venues and organizations listing events across many locations
- Community or niche sites with many event categories
Features
Let visitors filter events by event type, time of day, location and other categories, so they can narrow a busy calendar down to what matters to them.
Show filters in a column beside the calendar instead of the traditional top bar, which can free up space and make navigation clearer.
Display only a few terms in long filter lists at first, with a See All option that reveals the full list when a visitor needs it.
Add a quick filter bar to the calendar header that uses event type icons, giving visitors a one-click way to sort events.
Each filter type can include its own search bar, so visitors can find a specific term in a long list as they type.
Open filter selection in a pop-up lightbox, keeping the page layout uncluttered while visitors choose their filters.
Use a block-based calendar shortcode generator in the admin area to add and customize filters on your EventON calendar.
