What’s new in EventON - RSS Feed 1.2.1
- NewRss feed url link in settings
What it does
Event sites often struggle to keep people informed after their first visit. Most visitors will not check a calendar page every week, so new events can go unnoticed. This add-on gives them another way to follow along. It publishes your EventON events as an RSS feed that people can subscribe to, and their reader picks up new or updated events automatically. It suits community portals, yoga retreat sites, conference hubs and other sites built around a schedule of events.
The add-on works alongside the core EventON plugin, which it requires. Once active, it creates a feed at a default address (/evofeed) that you can change to a custom slug. You can place a subscribe button on any EventON calendar with a shortcode attribute, choose whether events are sorted by published date or start time, and hide past events so the feed lists only upcoming or current ones. You can also set up feed URLs for specific event types, and the feed link appears in the settings for easy reference.
Best for
- Sites already running the EventON calendar plugin
- Community portals and conference hubs with frequent events
- Retreat and class organizers who want subscribers to follow schedules

Questions about EventON - RSS Feed
Do I need the main EventON plugin for this to work?
Yes. This is an add-on for EventON and requires the core EventON plugin. It adds RSS feed output to the calendars you have already set up there, so you manage your events in EventON as usual.
Can I change the feed address?
Yes. The feed uses /evofeed by default, and you can replace that with a custom slug in the settings. The feed URL link is also shown in the settings so you can copy and share it.
Can visitors subscribe to only certain kinds of events?
You can generate feed URLs for specific event types. That lets you offer separate feeds, for example one per category of event, so subscribers can follow just the events that interest them.
Will old events clutter the feed?
Not if you prefer otherwise. There is an option to hide past events from the feed, keeping it focused on upcoming and current events. You can also sort entries by published date or by start time.
Is EventON - RSS Feed free?
The code of EventON - RSS Feed is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of EventON - RSS Feed is this?
Version 1.2.1, released Mar 24, 2025.
