What it does
Monthly calendars work well for the next few weeks, but they make it hard to see a full year of programming. If you run a venue, a tourism board or an organization with events spread across the calendar, visitors have to page through month after month to find what they want. This add-on gathers the year into a single grid built on top of your existing EventON calendar, so people can spot busy periods and plan ahead without clicking around.
Each date with events appears as a colored circle, and the color reflects how many events fall on that day. Hovering over a circle shows up to three event previews or a simple count, and clicking a date opens a lightbox listing everything scheduled that day. Months are clickable for a more detailed listing. The view works with EventON filtering by categories and custom criteria, and with the Event Tickets add-on so tickets can be sold from the yearly calendar. Colors, fonts and grid styles are set in the EventON settings.
Best for
- Venues hosting events throughout the year
- Tourism boards publishing annual event calendars
- Organizations already running the EventON calendar

Questions about EventON Yearly View
Does this work on its own or do I need EventON?
It is an add-on for the EventON calendar plugin. It extends the core EventON calendar with a yearly layout, so you need EventON running on your site for the 12 month grid to work.
How do visitors see which days are busiest?
Dates with events show as colored circles in a heat map style, where the color reflects how many events fall on that day. Hovering shows up to three previews or an event count, and clicking opens a lightbox with every event that day.
Can visitors filter the yearly calendar?
Yes. The yearly view works with EventON filtering, so visitors can narrow the events shown by categories and custom criteria to find the ones that interest them.
Can I sell tickets from the yearly view?
The add-on is compatible with the EventON Event Tickets add-on. With that add-on in place, you can enable direct ticket sales from the yearly calendar, which is handy for large or recurring events.
Is EventON Yearly View free?
The code of EventON Yearly View is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of EventON Yearly View is this?
Version 0.16, released Jul 17, 2025.
