What’s new in SupportCandy Email Piping 3.3.9

Version 3.3.9 · Sep 29, 2026 Latest
  • NewAdded a tool to import missing emails

What it does

Many customers would rather send an email than log into a support portal, and agents often live in their inbox too. This add-on connects your support mailbox to SupportCandy so new messages become tickets and replies land on the right existing ticket. Nobody has to visit the website to open or answer a ticket, and conversations stay in one place where your team can track them. It requires the SupportCandy plugin to run.

You connect a mailbox using Basic IMAP authentication, the Gmail API or the Microsoft Exchange API, depending on your provider. Several addresses can be forwarded to one main account and piped together. From there, piping rules can set fields such as priority or status based on the forwarding address, sender or keywords, and filters decide which emails become tickets at all. There is also a tool for importing emails that were missed.

Best for

  • Businesses running a SupportCandy helpdesk on WordPress
  • Support teams that prefer answering tickets from email
  • Sites receiving support requests at several email addresses

Features

Tickets and replies by email

Customers and agents can create new tickets and reply to existing ones from their email inboxes, without logging into the website.

Several piping methods

Connect your mailbox through Basic IMAP authentication, the Gmail API or the Microsoft Exchange API, choosing the option that matches your email provider.

Multiple addresses, one account

Forward several email addresses to a single main account so all customer correspondence is piped and managed together in one system.

Conditional piping rules

Set ticket fields like priority or status automatically based on forwarding address, sender email, or keywords in the subject or body, using exact, wildcard or regex matching.

Email filtering controls

Choose whether to pipe new emails, replies or both, allow registered users or everyone, and block emails by sender or subject to cut down on spam.

HTML or plain text body

Decide whether the email body is piped in HTML or plain text format, depending on what reads best for your team.

CC recipients as participants

Import CC addresses as additional ticket participants so everyone copied on the original email stays part of the conversation.

Import missing emails

A built-in tool lets you import emails that were not piped, helping you recover messages so they still become tickets or replies.

Questions about SupportCandy Email Piping

Does this work without SupportCandy?

No. SupportCandy Email Piping is an add-on for the SupportCandy helpdesk plugin, so SupportCandy needs to be installed and active. The add-on handles turning emails into tickets and replies inside that system.

Which email providers can I connect?

You can pipe email using Basic IMAP authentication, which works with many mail services, or through API connections for Gmail and Microsoft Exchange. Pick the method that fits the provider your support mailbox uses.

Can I keep spam from turning into tickets?

Yes. Filtering options let you choose whether new emails, replies or both are piped, limit piping to registered users or allow everyone, and block messages by sender or subject so irrelevant emails stay out of your queue.

Can tickets be sorted automatically as they arrive?

Piping rules can set predefined ticket fields such as priority or status. Conditions can match the forwarding address, the sender's email, or keywords in the subject or body, using exact, wildcard or regex matching.

Is SupportCandy Email Piping free?

The code of SupportCandy Email Piping is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of SupportCandy Email Piping is this?

Version 3.3.9, released Sep 29, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update SupportCandy Email Piping?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of SupportCandy Email Piping automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.

What does SupportCandy Email Piping need?

SupportCandy Email Piping needs SupportCandy installed and active.
