What it does

Support teams repeat the same steps on many tickets: picking an agent, moving a ticket to the right status, leaving a note for the team. Doing this by hand takes time and invites small mistakes. This extension is built for sites already running the SupportCandy helpdesk, and it turns those repeated steps into workflow rules. You choose an event that starts the rule, set conditions that decide when it applies, and list the actions it should carry out.

Workflows come in two forms. Automatic workflows run on system events such as a new ticket being created or a status change, so tickets get the same handling every time. Manual workflows appear in a widget on the ticket, which shows only the workflows that match the ticket's current conditions, letting agents run a predefined process when they decide it fits. The settings are designed so people without a technical background can set up and manage rules.

Best for

  • Websites running the SupportCandy helpdesk plugin
  • Support teams handling a steady volume of repetitive tickets
  • Helpdesk managers who want consistent ticket routing

Features

Trigger, condition and action rules

Combine triggers, conditions and actions into custom workflow rules that match how your support team actually processes tickets.

Automatic event-based workflows

Run workflows on their own when system events happen, such as a new ticket being created or a ticket's status changing.

Manual workflows widget

Agents can launch workflows from a widget on the ticket that lists only the workflows applicable to its current conditions.

Automatic ticket assignment

Assign tickets to agents through workflow actions based on your own logic, reducing the manual sorting of incoming requests.

Status and field updates

Update ticket statuses and other ticket fields as a workflow action whenever your chosen conditions are met.

Public and private notes

Add public notes visible to the customer or private notes for your team as part of any workflow.

Configurable settings

Workflow settings are laid out so non-technical users can create, adjust and manage automation rules without writing code.

Questions about SupportCandy Workflows

Do I need SupportCandy to use this plugin?

Yes. This is an extension built specifically for the SupportCandy helpdesk plugin. It adds workflow automation on top of SupportCandy's ticket system, so SupportCandy must be active on your WordPress site for it to work.

Can workflows run without anyone clicking anything?

Yes. Automatic workflows run on system events such as a new ticket being created or a status change. Once a rule is set up, its actions are carried out each time the event happens and the conditions match.

Can agents choose when to run a workflow?

They can. Manual workflows are available through an action widget on the ticket. The widget lists only the workflows that apply to the ticket's current conditions, so agents see relevant options and run them when needed.

What can a workflow actually do to a ticket?

Actions include assigning the ticket to an agent, updating its status or other ticket fields, and adding public or private notes. You can combine several actions in one rule and control when they run with conditions.

Is SupportCandy Workflows free?

The code of SupportCandy Workflows is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
